I have a few polishes that Sally Hansen was gracious enough to send over for me to review to show you today! These polishes are from three different collections and have three different finishes. I haven't tried any of these finishes from Sally Hansen before so these are all new to me.
The first polish I have to show you is a Velvet Texture polish in the color Regal. This went on very smooth. It does start to dry fairly quickly, so you can't over work it or you will start to pull polish up. I didn't have any of those issues though while I was applying it. This is two coats with no top coat to show the textured finish. This actually feels soft and smooth on the nail - kind of like velvet, it does not feel rough or textured to me at all. It was very interesting. I also wanted to let you know that I had no staining, which I am always a bit afraid of with blues like this one.
Up next is a polish from their Patent Gloss like called Vinyl. It is a black glossy polish. Again, it was smooth going on the nail. This is one coat with no top coat. It is really nice. I appreciate how opaque it is with only one coat and it is very shiny with out top coat. I did have a few brush strokes that you can see, but I think if you apply it more carefully than I did, you won't have that issue. I wasn't expecting it to be so opaque with just one coat! I think it is great on it's own, but it would also work great under other polishes or glitters. I will show you a look like that next!
The last polish I have is Crochet from the Lace Effects line. This is a combination of white and light blue matte glitter in hexes of all different sizes. It is really pretty. I did have an issue getting the largest hex glitter out of the bottle. I was able to get a few out, but it did take quite a bit of fishing to get them out. I do really like the look of this polish. I think it is pretty without the largest glitter, so it doesn't bother me too much to have to work to get them out. This is one coat of Crochet over Vinyl.
Overall, I am really impressed with these polishes! I like all three and I think my favorite is how Crochet looks over Vinyl. All of these polishes should be available in stores and online now. I'd love to hear what you think of these. Do you have a favorite? Also, if you've tried these out, let me know if there are other colors I should try!
*These polishes were sent to me for review. My review is 100% honest. Providing me a product for review does not influence whether I like the product(s) or not.*
Every time I go to walgreens I look at the velvet ones but haven't picked any up. Your swatches are great :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think I might have to try out more colors. I really liked it more than I thought I would.
DeleteOh Regal is gorgeous! I'm a sucker for blues though. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI'm a blue lover too! I love how bright this one is. Thank you!
DeleteBlues scare me too! I remember I was swatching one of the blues really quickly from the new China Glaze collection and I did it so far from my cuticles just in case it looked like it had been growing out for a week :/ woops. That texture does look great though and the glitter is super pretty and very appropriate for the arctic winter going on.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I do the same thing when I'm swatching a color I'm afraid will stain. Ha ha, it looks rediculous. :0) I was so impressed that I had no staining with this at all.
DeleteOMG I need this blue!!! I love all three actually.... ok now I need to find them. Thanks for the swatches!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I really liked all of these as well. They are very nice polishes! :0)
DeleteI love the blue, the texture looks nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSo gorgeous! I love the glitter too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI have yet to see these collections around here. That velvet line is really interesting and that blue is so pretty! I love that last macro of yours!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love the blue as well. It's so nice and bright!
DeleteNice! I like that blue, and I'm not usually a huge fan of blues!
ReplyDeleteOh man, that Velvet is calling my name. Blue and textured? Mine!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great polish! So different from anything I have in my collection!
DeleteThe color on that Velvet is beautiful!! Might have to hunt that down!
ReplyDeleteNice swatches. I am in love with Crochet
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI could pass on the glitter topper but the Velvet and Patent shades are impressive!
ReplyDeleteThey are really nice! I'm glad to have them. :0)
DeleteLove the texture of the velvet. I have to check out the black. My fformer go to black (wet n wild) isn't as great as it used to be and takes 2 instead of 1 coat for opacity.
ReplyDeleteYes, I really appreciate a one coat polish - especially from the drug store. :0)
DeleteThat blue velvet finish --> insert me doing a wolf whistle here!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! It's really nice! :0)
DeleteLove that velvet look--I need to pick up a few of those. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's really unique! I really like it.
DeleteOh the regal velvet. ..is speechless. Absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
