Formula X Starfish

I have a new-to-me brand of polish to show you today! I had a reader suggest the Formula X polishes by Sephora. I had never tried them out before, and I was at a mall with a Sephora in it, so I thought I would check them out. First of all, the selection is huge! I only got two (but I'm only trying out one today) but there were so many more that looked amazing. There were a lot of different finishes and colors. The polish I have to show you today is called Starfish and it is from the new Sea Glass collection.

This polish is so pretty! I did not realize when I picked it up that it had a different texture than a normal nail polish has when I picked it up. Sephora does have polish testers and strips to test out the polishes, but most of the ones at the Sephora I was at were either missing or too dried out to give them a good try. That being said, this is one of the most interesting textures I've ever experienced on my nails. It is delicate and, if you can believe it, soft! After I applied this polish and let it dry a little bit, I ran my finger over it and was so surprised at what I felt. I wish I had better words to describe it to you. The texture is definitely different that a typical polish, but it is not rough at all, just softer.

The sparkle in this polish is simply stunning. I really like it. I'm interested to try out one of the polishes in this finish in a darker color to see what that looks like. One of the only negative things I would have to say about this is that it is really sheer. This is three coats with a coat of HK Girl over the top. I could've done another coat of polish to see if that would've covered the nail line, but it was starting to get a bit thick on my nail and I think it would've been way too thick with four coats. I would recommend this polish to you though, if you don't mind seeing your nail line. It has such a unique finish and the color and sparkle are beautiful. Starfish is available at Sephora and also on their website here
