Zoya Delight Collection - Is it a Dupe?

I was asked a couple times yesterday if the Zoya Delight shades were similar to shades from previous collections, so I thought I'd do a comparison post. I have one older shade to compare each Delight shade to. For each set of picures I have the Delight shade on my pointer and ring finger, while I have the older shade on my middle and pinky finger.

The first two shades I have to compare are Leslie and Hudson. Leslie is described as a lavender metallic polish with a turquoise shimmer while Hudson is described as a purple orchid metallic with a silver shimmer. These are not dupes at all. They have a very different finish on the nail. The silver shimmer in Hudson is much more apparent than the shimmer in Leslie.

Up next is my favorite from the Delight collection, Rayne. I compared this one to Rebel. Rayne is a spring blue metallic with a turquoise shimmer and Rebel is a sky blue metallic with a silver shimmer. Again, the silver shimmer in Rebel is much more apparent on the nail.

I decided to pair Lillian from the Delight collection with Blu. Lillian is a faded aquamarine creme polish and Blu is a pale baby blue creme polish. Blu has much more white in it. When I compare the two, I also feel like Lillian has a tiny bit of green in it.

When I saw Tiana from the Delight collection I immediately thought of Neely. I thought these were going to be dupes until I looked at the bottles next to each other. Tiana is a pistachio gelato green and Neely is described as a Spring green. I think that Neely looks like it has a touch of grey in it when I see the two shades next to each other. These were not as close in color as I thought they would be.

I knew going in that these two polishes were definitely not dupes of each other. I didn't have anything like Daisy in my collection, so I chose the closest thing I had. I chose to compare Daisy with Darcy. Daisy is a lemon yellow and Darcy is a sunny, more summery yellow. They also don't have the same finish. Daisy has a turquoise shimmer while Darcy has a creme formula.

The last comparison I have to show you is Eden from the Delight collection and Rooney. Like the green shades, I really thought these were going to be almost identical. I was wrong again! Eden is a Spring flower pink and Rooney is a magenta pink. Rooney is one of my favorite pink Zoyas. It is opaque in just one coat! Eden is lighter than Rooney is but they do share the same glossy creme finish.

So, with all six comparisons done, I can say that I don't have any dupes from Zoya for any of the polishes in the Delight collection. I also wanted to add that for these swatches I used thicker coats on the Delight polishes and I was able to get all of them opaque in two coats. The older shades also are opaque in two coats. I didn't top coat any of them so that you could see how they dry on their own.

I'm happy to have all of these shades in my collection! All of the older shades are still available at Zoya.com. If you have other comparisons you'd like to see, let me know and I'll see if I have them in my collection to show you. If I do, I'd be happy to compare them! What do you think of these? Did you think that they would be closer in color than they are? I'd love to hear in the comments below!

  1. Thanks for checking Neely for me. I think it's so interesting how similar polished can look in the bottle but be totally different on the nail! I've had Rooney for a while but still haven't used it. I'm going to have to bust it our for V'day, it's gorgeous!

  2. This is a great post! Great to see how the shades compare to one another. I wonder if this is what Zoya does when coming up with shades, haha. If it's different enough, it passes as a new color! LOL

    1. Thank you! I really appreciate that Zoya doesn't make dupes of their own polishes. I think other mainstream brands do and I don't really know why.
