Zoya Rooney and Kitridge

Today I have some simple nail art using Zoya's Rooney and Kitridge.  I wanted to use pink since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Both colors are from Tickled, one of Zoya's 2014 Summer collections and can be purchased here.

I really love Zoya polishes.  I would say that Zoya is my favorite mainstream brand.  I rarely, if ever, have a problem with the formula of their polishes, no matter what finish they have.  Both of the polishes featured today have a cream finish.

As I said, I kept the nail art simple for this manicure.  I am working on advancing my nail art skills, but I am definitely a beginner.  For this look I used nail vinyl strips that I received as a sample with a purchase I made from Glisten and Glow.  They are actually from NailVinyls.com and can be purchased here. There are quite a few designs.

Chevron Nail Vinyls

It was pretty easy to get this look.  I used two coats of Rooney, the darker pink, on all of my nails.  I then used a coat of Glisten and Glow HK Girl top coat to dry the polish faster. After the base color was dry I placed two nail vinyls on each nail.  I then used one thick coat of Kitridge over the whole nail.  While Kitridge was still wet, I removed the nail vinyls with a tweezers.  I topped the nail with another coat of top coat. The HK Girl top coat is great for nail art and is my favorite top coat.  It dries really quickly as well as giving a shiny finish without smearing the design.

When using nail vinyls it is very important that the base polish is completely dry before putting the vinyls on. If it is not, you risk having the base color peeling up when you peel off the nail vinyl.  It is also important to make sure the vinyl is pressed down really well to avoid air pockets for the top nail color to seep through.

I will definitely be using nail vinyls again.  It was so easy to do this design and it is not something I could do with out the vinyls.  I really like the way these colors work together.  I'm excited to other combinations.  What color combinations would you like to see?  Let me know!

  1. How long did you wait to put on the vinyl stickers and apply the light pink?

  2. Not that long. I used the fast drying top coat and waited maybe 15 minured before applying the second color.
