Happy Halloween!! The last Halloween manicure I have for you this week is a simple one but oh so pretty. It is KBShimmer Jack. This polish is a black jelly base with orange metallic hexes, tiny bars and microglitter. There are also black shard glitters in here as well. It is limited edition but as of right now it is still available here.

Black and Silver Halloween Nails
I have black and silver nails to show you today featuring a Halloween glitter as an accent. I really think colors like this work for Halloween. It is not the typical orange and black, but I like this as well.
Dovima (L), Kiss and Spell (M), and Trixie (R) |
For this look I used Zoya Dovima, which is a matte black with a beautiful shimmer, Zoya Trixie and KB Shimmer Kiss and Spell. I really like Dovima. I puchased the whole Zoya Matte Velvet collection (which is available here) and I am so glad I did. One thing that I think is really neat about this collection is that the bottles are all frosted. That way it is easy to tell which polishes are matte. Zoya Trixie (available here) is described by Zoya as a "stunning light silver with a sparkling metallic foil finish." I totally agree. If you are looking for a good silver polish, this is one to pick up. As always with Zoya polishes, I didn't have any issues with the formula of either polish.
I used two coats of Dovima on all of my nails except my ring finger, where I did two coats of Trixie. I then used one dabbed coat of KBShimmer Kiss and Spell (available here) as an accent glitter. I then did one coat of HK Girl top coat on all of my nails.
Kiss and Spell has a fantastic combination of glitter in it. This polish includes black, orange, green and purple hexes as well as orange, green and purple stars. There is also a black microglitter in there as well. I had no problems getting the glitter out of the bottle. I did dab the glitter on because it tends to wipe off if you try to put it on like a regular polish.
I had to include a picture of the beautiful shimmer in Dovima. While I like it matte, which is it's original finish, I love it with top coat. It is stunning. I am not a huge fan of black nail polish but I could see myself using this again as a full manicure. Do you like this combination for Halloween? Let me know, I'd love to hear from you!

I have my picks from China Glaze Apocalypse of Color to show you. This is China Glaze's 2014 Halloween collection. I didn't purchase all of the colors in the collection, I just picked the three I liked the best. Two are textured polishes and one is a glitter topper. I purchased these polishes at Sally Beauty Supply, but I'm sure they can be found on Amazon as well.

Halloween French Tip
I have a Halloween French Tip on today! I used a black and orange holographic polish for this look. I used polishes from the Color Club 2013 Halo Hues collection. This collection is all holographic polishes in various colors. While these aren't available in stores as far as I know, they are currently available on Amazon. For this post I took pictures with and without flash. The first picture in each set is with flash and the second is without.

Zoya Pixie Dust Halloween Manicure
I have a manicure on today that features Zoya Pixie Dust polishes. These polishes are full of sparkle and dry matte. They also dry with a bit of a texture. If that is something that bothers you, it can be easily resolved by using a coat or two of top coat.

Zoya Autumn and Tomoko
I have a gorgeous Fall color combination for you today. It is Zoya Autumn with an accent of Tomoko. Autumn is described on the Zoya website as being "a varnished copper liquid metal." When I look at this polish I see a beautiful burnt orange polish with tons of gold flakes running through it. Autumn is part of Zoya's Ignite Fall 2014 collection and is available here. All of the polishes in that collection are stunning. If you are thinking of getting any of them, I would highly recommend them. I just think they look so pretty on the nail.

Glitter Lambs A Twist of Galaxy
I feel like today's manicure is completely the opposite of yesterday's. Where yesterday's was muted and delicate, this one is bright and in your face. And I love it! I don't ever wear yellow nail polish, so this is going out on a limb for me. This is Glitter Lambs A Twist of Galaxy over OPI I Just Can't Copa-cabana.

Pretty in Pink
I have a pretty pink manicure on today. This is my first time doing a technique called a jelly sandwich manicure. It is a base color with a glitter "sandwiched" in the middle and then a sheer polish on the top.

Julep Kirti & Cats
I have a Halloween manicure on my nails today. I used Julep Kirti which they describe as a persimmon iridescent shimmer. This color isn't quite as orange as I thought it would be. It has more of a pink undertone to it. It does have a really pretty tangerine shimmer running throughout it.

China Glaze Blue and Sparkly
I have China Glaze The Capacity to See Beyond and Glistening Snow on my nails today. It has been very dreary here the last few days, so I wanted a nice bright color on my nails. The sun finally peeked through for a few minutes today and it was so nice to see!

October Glitter Guilty Pleasures Box
I received my October Glitter Guilty Pleasures box in the mail today. If you're not familiar with the Glitter Guilty Pleasures box, I'll tell you a little about it. It is a monthly subscription box that includes one full-sized polish, one mini-sized polish and a special treat. The full sized polish is selected just for you based on a profile you fill out when you sign up for a subscription. The mini polish is sent to all subscribers. The treat varies depending on what month it is. The boxes that arrive in cooler months have chocolate in them, while the warmer months have a different kind of sweet treat in them. Check out my review after the jump!

Why Blog?
I started this blog because I love having pretty nails! I love having polished nails and experimenting with new things for them. Doing my nails is something that is relaxing for me,, typically at the end of the night. It is a creative release for me.
I live in Wisconsin and I am a stay at home mom of two boys, ages 3 and 4 months. I enjoy it very much. My husband is finishing his last semester of nursing school in December. That is very exciting for us. I can't wait to see where it takes him.
Please let me know what you would like to see. I would love input from you guys. I will be doing reviews of subscription boxes that I receive, reviews of polishes I purchase, and occasionally hauls.
Thank you for checking out Polished with Pizzazz!
