Glitter Me This Duo - China Glaze

Today I have a duo from China Glaze that I picked up from Sally's Beauty Supply recently called Glitter Me This. These polishes are from the new Spring 2016 House of Colour collection. My Sally's didn't have the whole collection out, but this was buy the register and I impulsively picked it up! I'll show you both polishes and then at the end I'll let you know what I think.

The first polish in the duo is Let's Chalk About It. Let's Chalk About It is a very, very light pink polish. The only description I found of this one online states that it is a frothy white polish, but I definitely see pink in this one. I did three coats with one coat of top coat. I can still see a few streaks and it is still uneven in a few spots, but it was getting a bit thick so I didn't do any more coats. The top coat did help even it out a bit.

Glitter Me This is the glitter topper in this duo. It is a clear based polish with baby pink, white and gold metallic hexes in various sizes.  I did one coat of this over Let's Chalk About It. It was easy to spread out and I got a good amount of glitter out of the bottle with each dip. I did need to swirl to get some of the largest glitters out, but that's not unusual for a topper like this.

Overall, I like half of this duo. I enjoy Glitter Me This, and I will use it again over a different light pink or another color - it might look good over a black or darker pink, I think.  Let's Chalk About It is definitely one to skip, in my opinion. The formula is not good and the color isn't unique at all.

Let me know in the comments below what you think of this duo, or if you plan on picking up any of the polishes from this collection when it comes out. I'd love to hear!

*NEW* China Glaze Glitter Polishes

Today I have several new polishes from China Glaze. These are not part of a specific collection, they are part of the core line at Sally Beauty Supply. I haven't been able to find much online about them so far, and I wanted to share my thoughts with you!

China Glaze Road Trip 2015 Collection Part 1

Today I have six of the shades from the China Glaze Road Trip 2015 collection. I should have the other six up in the next few days. I bought these polishes on head2toebeauty.com. I will link the collection here. If you order from head2toe, you will notice that the polishes are pretty inexpensive but the shipping is a little crazy. (I think the shipping for all 12 polishes was about $12.50, but they did come the day after I ordered them via UPS.) These were $3.25 per polish, which is much cheaper than I could find them for at Sally's or Ulta. Even with the shipping, the per polish price is less than $4.25.

KBShimmer Prism Break with China Glaze Holly-day

I have a polish that I think is really interesting on my blog today. It is KBShimmer Prism Break. Prism Break is a linear holographic topper polish.  You can put this polish over any color and make it look like a holographic polish.

China Glaze Twinkle Collection

I have my picks from the China Glaze Twinkle 2014 Holiday collection to show you today. I have nine of the polishes from the Twinkle collection.

I'd Melt For You is the first polish I have to show you. It is a silver chrome polish.  This polish has an ok formula. When applying this polish I found that I had to be very careful, if I swiped the polish too many times I got brushstrokes on the nails. Besides the minor brushstroke issues, I did like the finish of this polish. It almost looks like a mirror on the nails. This is two coats of I'd Melt For You with one coat of HK Girl top coat.

Mickey's Birthday!

Did you know that yesterday was Mickey Mouse's birthday? He was 86 years old. Because I have a 3 year old, I spent much of yesterday watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. So in honor of his birthday, I decided to do a Mickey themed manicure.

For this look I used China Glaze Tip Your Hat from the Winter 2014 Twinkle collection. I will have swatches of some of the other Twinkle collection polishes up soon. This is one coat of Tip Your Hat. I used some Mickey shaped glitter that I received from a Glitter Lambs order that I received recently as an accent. (She includes baggies of larger glitter with some of her polishes. It's a really nice feature!) I used one coat of HK Girl to seal everything in.

I think Tip Your Hat is a perfect Mickey red. It had a great formula and I love one coat polishes. Happy Birthday Mickey!

China Glaze Apocalypse of Color

I have my picks from China Glaze Apocalypse of Color to show you.  This is China Glaze's 2014 Halloween collection.  I didn't purchase all of the colors in the collection, I just picked the three I liked the best. Two are textured polishes and one is a glitter topper. I purchased these polishes at Sally Beauty Supply, but I'm sure they can be found on Amazon as well.

China Glaze Blue and Sparkly

I have China Glaze The Capacity to See Beyond and Glistening Snow on my nails today.  It has been very dreary here the last few days, so I wanted a nice bright color on my nails.  The sun finally peeked through for a few minutes today and it was so nice to see!
